The grinding head with infeed axis and dressing unit – and for HELIX machines the additional swivel axis – are mounted on a thermally stable mineral casting machine bed. During grinding the workpiece and synchronously the tailstock are moved vertically. This arrangement of axes makes the whole machine design space saving and ergonomic.
The machine table is – characteristic of HÖFLER – driven by a maintenancefree, high-precision torque motor. Options like an integrated inspection system, grinding of non-pretoothed workpieces or grinding of spline shafts and special profiles as well as the possibility to realize topological modifications make the HELIX / PROMAT 700 to the most economic and profitable machines in their class.
